Everything breaks eventually. I just find out how.

Hey, I’m Ian, the founder of RedSec. I started this project to make offensive security learning genuinely open: no accounts, no paywalls, just the techniques explained clearly.

I compete in CTFs pretty seriously. I got a perfect score in picoCTF 2026, was a High Performer in the NSA Codebreaker Challenge out of 6,400+ people, and did eCitadel IV where I was basically handling incident response solo across like four different machines while a Red Team was actively trying to take us down the whole time.

When I’m not doing CTF stuff I’m building things. I have my own x86_64 kernel, a Rust debugger with DWARF support, and a few other projects I keep coming back to. I also tune my own PC and actually know what I’m doing with it.

Outside of security I game a lot, mostly CS2, Fortnite, and Rocket League. I care a lot about clean minimal aesthetics whether its a UI or my setup. I just like knowing how everything works and if theres something to learn about how it actually functions I’m gonna go figure it out.

What I work on

  • Red team tradecraft and tooling
  • Binary exploitation / pwn
  • Building RedSec into a community-driven learning platform
